Who We Are
About MBC
We are a non-denominational, multi-ethnic, multi-generational church in San Ramon, California that aims to love God, love one another, and be faithful to the gospel of Jesus Christ, both in preaching and in practice. We are firmly committed to the Bible as God’s inspired, inerrant, authoritative, and all-sufficient Word.
Our History
In 1997, Maranatha Bible Church (MBC) began as a church plant, holding afternoon services in a family’s home in San Ramon. In 2002, another church plant from Fremont, Chinese Faith Bible Church, merged with us. Over the following two decades, God was gracious and faithful to sustain our church through all the ups and downs. In July 2020, the members of MBC voted to affirm Sam Lee as their new pastor called by God to lead MBC, and since then, our church has been earnestly endeavoring to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ as we hold fast to the purity and power of the gospel.
Our Purpose and Vision
Our prayer and aspiration at MBC is to glorify God by enjoying Him forever in and through the Person of Jesus Christ and making Him known to a world desperately in need of the saving grace of His gospel.
By His grace alone, we are and continue to strive to be a local church that embodies these characteristics:
Scripture as our sole authority
Reformed in our soteriology
Baptist in our ecclesiology
Elders-led in our polity
Gospel-centered in our ministry
Warm-hearted as a church family
Evangelistic in our community
Christ-exalting in our doxology
